Scan passport pages to PDF
Scan passport pages from phone photos: photograph the pages your form asks for, and LensUp straightens each one and puts it on its own A4 page at the passport’s real size, 125 × 88 mm — one PDF, ready to upload or to print as a passport photocopy.
No sign-up, no watermark. Size targets are best-effort; the final file size is always shown.
This browser can’t open PDFs — it’s too old to run the PDF engine. Use the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, or a newer phone or computer.
Photograph the pages you need
On a computer, drag images or PDFs here, or paste a screenshot (Ctrl / ⌘ + V).
Choose them all at once. LensUp tries to put the page with your photo first and the rest in the order the photos were taken; check the order and drag to change it.
Color
EffectWhitens the paper background; dark print stays dark.
Removes the color and adds a little contrast.
Keeps the original colors, with no tone change.
Pushes ink to black and paper to white; some gray can remain.
Evens out shadows and uneven light; keeps colored ink and stamps.
Fades blue, red and green ink; cannot reliably remove black handwriting.
Warm gray paper, fine grain and a slight tilt; colored ink turns gray.
Check each page
Each page is straightened for you. You can fix corners and change the order here.

How do I scan my passport to PDF?
Open your passport at the photo page, lay it flat and take a photo from straight above. Add it to LensUp, together with any other pages your form asks for, check that each page’s corners sit on its edges, and choose Download PDF. Every passport page gets its own A4 page at real size, 125 × 88 mm, so the same PDF prints as a passport photocopy at 100%.
It works as a passport scanner online: the photos are processed in your browser, on your phone or computer, and are not uploaded to LensUp. There is no sign-up and no watermark.
How it works
- Photograph the pages you needLay each page flat on a dark, plain surface and shoot from straight above. Tilt the phone a little or turn off the flash if the laminate shines over the photo. Choose all the photos at once.
- Check each pageLensUp finds the page edges and straightens each page to the passport’s shape. When you add several photos at once, it tries to put the page with your photo first and the rest in the order they were taken; when it cannot tell, it keeps the order you chose. Drag pages to change the order, or undo it. If the edges were not found, drag the four corners onto the page.
- Download the PDFOne PDF, one passport page per A4 page at real size. Pick a size limit if the form sets one, or print at 100% or “Actual size” for a paper copy.
Which passport pages to scan
The photo page — the one with your photo, your details and two lines of code at the bottom — is what most visa, bank and job forms ask for, and often the only page they want.
Indian forms often ask for more — the passport first and last page. The Passport Seva instruction booklet asks for the first and last page of a spouse’s or a parent’s passport and, for a re-issue, a self-attested photocopy of the old passport’s first two and last two pages. Add those pages in that order; each gets its own A4 page in the PDF.
Some visa applications ask for every page with a stamp or a visa. Your form’s list of documents decides: add exactly the pages it names.
A passport scanner in your browser
You do not need a flatbed or a passport scanner app: a phone photo of the page, straightened and cleaned up, is a scan. The pages stay in colour, which visa and embassy forms usually expect; switch to grayscale or black and white if yours asks for it.
If the two code lines at the bottom of the photo page come out blurred, retake the photo closer and in better light. A sharp scan matters more than a small file.
A passport photocopy at real size
Each page is placed at 125 × 88 mm — the size of a passport page — near the top of its A4 sheet, like a photocopy. Print at 100% or “Actual size”, not “Fit to page”, then lay the passport on the print: the outlines should match.
The size comes from the corners: a page whose corners sit on its edges fills the 125 × 88 mm frame. A page photographed at an angle with the table around it prints smaller until its corners are moved onto the page.
What LensUp does not do
LensUp only straightens and saves photos of your own passport, on your device. It does not read the code lines or any other text, does not fill in forms, does not change a name, photo or number, and does not make passport templates. Whether a copy is accepted is decided by the office that asked for it.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to scan my passport online here?
The photos are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to LensUp, and no account is needed. On a shared computer, delete the downloaded PDF and remove the pages from LensUp when you are done.
Will the passport photocopy print at the real size?
Yes, when each page’s corners sit on its edges: every passport page is placed at 125 × 88 mm on its own A4 page. Print at 100% or “Actual size”, not “Fit to page”.
Can I make the passport PDF smaller for an upload?
Yes. Pick a size limit before you download; LensUp lowers the image quality, and the resolution if it has to, to get under it. If it still cannot, it tells you the size it reached. Very small limits make the code lines hard to read.
