Compress PDF to 50KB
A 50 KB PDF is an extreme target for many certificates. First confirm that the form really requests PDF rather than JPG and whether 50 KB is a maximum or a range. Official examples often assign low limits to images while allowing more space for PDF certificates.
The target is preselected. Compression is best-effort; verify the saved file before upload.

Export options
ID card: places the first two pages as front & back at ID-1 size on one A4 sheet. Use Edit to crop or align the four corners.
Optional. Keeps the image ratio and never exceeds the page.
Everything runs in your browser — your files are never uploaded.
How do I compress a PDF to 50KB?
Choose the PDF, review its rendered pages, keep the 50 KB target selected and export. LensUp works toward the limit on a best-effort basis and shows the actual result; a multi-page or detailed PDF may not remain readable at 50 KB.
Use this page to reduce pdf size to 50kb only after checking the current instructions. When you choose an existing PDF, LensUp renders its pages locally as raster page images. The exported file does not retain selectable text, interactive forms, clickable links or vector content.
Official upload examples
These verified examples show why the correct target depends on the authority and document slot.
| Authority and document | Verified requirement | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS)SSC/SSLC/10th certificate or specified eligibility certificate | PDF, A4 page size, no more than 500 KB | The official guideline asks applicants to keep the PDF clear and readable after size reduction. |
| Reserve Bank of India (RBI)Recruitment photograph | JPG/JPEG, preferred 200 × 230 pixels, 20 KB–50 KB | This is a verified example of a portal that accepts a size range rather than one exact number. |
| Reserve Bank of India (RBI)Recruitment signature | JPG/JPEG, preferred 140 × 60 pixels, 10 KB–20 KB | The signature must remain clear; reducing bytes does not replace the portal’s pixel and legibility checks. |
Official limits can change by recruitment, year and document type. Check the latest official notice or guidelines before you upload.
How to prepare the file
- Import and inspect every rendered pageChoose the PDF and wait for its pages to appear. Confirm that no page is missing, rotated incorrectly or already too faint before you request further compression.
- Remove unnecessary pages or bordersKeep only material required by the form and crop unused margins carefully. Do not remove seals, signatures, registration numbers or document edges that establish authenticity.
- Export toward 50 KB and verifyRun the preset, note the reported size and open the exported PDF. Read small text at normal zoom and check the official form preview before submitting.
Why 50 KB is difficult for PDFs
A PDF container needs structure in addition to the page image data. Several pages, colour seals and fine text can exceed 50 KB even at aggressive settings. LensUp therefore treats the number as a best-effort target rather than a promise.
If the result is unreadable, return to the source and scan only the required page in even light. A clean, straight page with little shadow compresses better than a camera photo containing a desk, fingers and textured background.
Know the output trade-off
The local PDF import is designed for visual form uploads, not archival preservation. Because pages are rasterized, searchable text and document interactions are not carried into the result. Keep the original PDF separately for records or later verification.
Check the latest official notice for format and page limits. The cited IBPS guideline allows up to 500 KB for specified A4 certificates; it does not establish a universal 50 KB PDF rule. Choose 50 KB only when your actual portal says so.
Frequently asked questions
Can LensUp always reduce PDF size to 50kb?
No. It uses best-effort compression and reports the achieved size. A detailed or multi-page file may remain above 50 KB if a smaller result would be unusable.
Will selectable text and links remain in the compressed PDF?
No. Imported pages become raster page images, so selectable text, forms, links and vector content are not preserved. Keep the original if those features matter.
Should I use 50 KB for an IBPS certificate?
Not based on the cited guideline: it allows the specified PDF certificate up to 500 KB. Use the exact limit shown in the current application and check its official preview.
