Merge PDF files into one — free, nothing uploaded

Merge PDFs and photos in the order you choose.

Merge PDF

Runs in your browser — your files are never uploaded

Add a signature

Remove what’s under the covers?

A cover only hides: what is under it stays in the file and can be copied or found by search. Removing what is under the covers saves the whole file as pictures of its pages — the covered content is gone, and the text can no longer be selected or searched. Links and form fields are removed too.

Split or save pages

A comma starts a new part: 1-3, 4-6 is two parts. Your edits on these pages are included.

How do I combine PDF files into one?

Choose your PDFs and photos, put them in order with the arrows, and press Merge PDF. One PDF downloads. The pages of your PDFs are copied as they are, without losing quality, so text you can select stays selectable; each photo becomes a page the size of your PDF’s pages. It all happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

A JPG from a camera goes in byte for byte and a PNG keeps every pixel; HEIC, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF pictures are converted once. Photos and scanned pages stay pictures: merging does not read the text in them.

How to merge PDF files into one

  1. Choose your filesPick PDFs and photos — JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP — or drop them on the page. On an iPhone, pick the PDFs from Files first, then press Add files for the photos.
  2. Put them in orderEach file is a card: move it up or down with the arrows, or take it out of the list with ×. A PDF with a password asks for it on its card.
  3. Press Merge PDFOne PDF downloads, named after the first file. To turn, delete or move single pages, or to add text or a signature first, press Edit pages instead.

What the merged PDF keeps

PDF pages are copied as they are: their text, fonts, drawings, pictures and notes. Text you can select in your PDFs stays selectable in the merged one. Web links keep working, a link from one page of a PDF to another points to the same page in the merged file, and each PDF’s bookmarks come along, in the order of the files.

Photos become pages

Each photo becomes a page the size of the first PDF page in your list — A4, Letter or whatever your PDF uses — turned to match the photo. With no PDF in the list, the pages are A4. A photo is fitted inside its page: never cropped, never stretched and never enlarged past its own pixels.

What merging does not do

Merging copies pages; it does not rewrite them. That is why text stays text — and why some things a file carries do not come along.

  • Photos and scanned pages are not made searchable: there is no OCR.
  • Form fields keep what is typed in them, but they can no longer be filled in.
  • A digitally signed PDF keeps the look of its signature, but the signature is not valid in the merged PDF.
  • Passwords and owner restrictions are not carried over: a PDF you unlock with its password is merged without one.
  • It takes PDFs and photos — not Word, Excel or other documents.
  • The merged PDF is about as large as your files together; HEIC or WebP photos can grow when they are converted.

Frequently asked questions

Does the text in my PDFs stay selectable?

Yes. PDF pages are copied as they are, so text you can select or search in your PDFs stays that way in the merged PDF. Photos and scanned pages stay pictures: merging does not read the text in them.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your browser reads and merges the files on your device, and nothing is sent to a server. The page “Verify that nothing is uploaded” shows how to check it yourself.

How many files can I merge at once?

Up to 50 files and 200 MB in all: up to 100 MB per PDF, up to 50 MB and 40 megapixels per picture, and 1,000 pages in the merged PDF. There is no daily limit.

Can I merge PDFs and photos together?

Yes — JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF. Each photo becomes a page the size of the first PDF page in your list, turned to match the photo; with no PDF in the list, the pages are A4.

What happens to links and bookmarks?

Web links are kept. A link from one page of a PDF to another points to the same page in the merged PDF; if you delete that page in Edit pages, the link goes too. Each PDF’s bookmarks are kept, in the order of the files.

What happens to form fields?

Each form comes over as it looks, with what is typed in its fields, but the fields can no longer be filled in: they are drawn into the page. That way two files with fields of the same name cannot get mixed up.

Does a digitally signed PDF stay signed?

Its signature looks the same in the merged PDF, but it is no longer valid there. Where the signature will be checked, send the original PDF.

Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

Yes. Its card asks for the password. Once you enter it, the file is merged, and the merged PDF has no password — the card says so before you merge.

Can I change single pages before I download?

Press Edit pages: all the pages open in the PDF editor, where you can turn, delete or move single pages and add text, a signature or a picture, then download the merged PDF.

Will the merged PDF be smaller than my files?

No. Merging copies pages without re-encoding them, so the merged PDF is about as large as your files together — HEIC or WebP photos can grow when they are converted.
